Resume

Dina Migachyov is a retired teacher with more than 30 years of experience in the area of teaching math.  She began her teaching career in Russia after having worked as an engineer for several years.  In Russia, she taught high school math and computer science, and in fact, created a computer science curriculum for high school students.

After immigrating to the United States, Dina switched to teaching elementary school math.  She taught 4-6th grade math using her own curricula and techniques; her students would routinely go from 6th grade math to 9th grade math after graduating from elementary school.  The math team at her school took first place in the state multiple times.  In 2003, Dina was awarded the Presidential Award for teaching.

Dina has authored four math textbooks for homeschoolers, amounting to a complete course in basic arithmetic and pre-algebra.  They can be purchased on this site.

After retiring in 2008, Dina devoted her full energies to tutoring.  She has had a tutoring practice ever since. 

Valery is a retired engineer who has joined Dina in her tutoring practice when he was ready to retire.  He was a research scientist in Russia, studying naval hydrodynamics.  After emigrating to the United States, he became a programmer, and later on joined a start-up  company to manufacture a medical device he co-invented.  He holds some patents in the United States and in Russia.

Valery retired in 2005, and joined Dina in her tutoring practice in 2008.
